It was a historic moment in the annals of RINL with Blast Furnace-2 ‘Krishna’ achieving a record by producing 50 million tonne of hot metal production since its inception.

The BF-2 which was commissioned on March 21, 1992, achieved this significant milestone on October 25, 2023, a company spokesman said on Thursday.

At a simple function held in the control room of BF-2 to celebrate the occasion, Atul Bhatt, CMD congratulated the entire BF team and the RINL collective on this momentous occasion.

“It is with great pleasure and admiration that I extend my heartiest congratulations to you, the entire RINL workforce, and the remarkable BF team on the historic achievement of Krishna reaching the monumental milestone of producing 50 million tonne of hot metal,” A Bhatt, said.

Speaking on the occasion, the CMD said, “This extraordinary accomplishment is a testament to the dedication, unwavering commitment, and tireless efforts of the entire RINL family. It reflects not only the excellence in technology and innovation, but also the unshakable determination of each member of the organization to reach new heights in the steel industry.” Addressing the BF collective, AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations) said, “Reaching this milestone is a reflection of RINL’s leadership and continuous pursuit of excellence. It is a moment of immense pride for everyone associated with the company, and it underscores RINL’s position as an industry leader, setting high standards for others to follow.”
